Metamorphosis

(This is purely a work of fiction, and any resemblance to any living or dead person, or place, is purely coincidental)

So here I am. A human. A sexual addict. A playboy and a pervert.

All I see is women everywhere. And not just women. But everything about them. From the seductiveness of their eyes, to the lust of their lips. Right from the tenderness of their necks, to the voluptuousness of their navels. From the firmness of their thighs to the ticklish nature of the soles of their feet. Everything. I am a pervert. And everything I think about women turns to pure and wretched perverseness.

One day I meet this woman in my office. She is probably half a decade older than me. Yeah, so big deal, I think to myself. I can rope her into my web of lust and into my world of sexcapades. So I start talking to her to court her, charm her, and entice her. All with the objective of getting her into my bed. But all this did not seem to work. For a second, I was agonized. I thought I could never possess her. But then she started opening up to me. For an instant there, I thought my plan worked.

But then I realised what was truly happening. I was falling in love with her. Yeah, she was married. So what? Yeah, she was older than me. So what? Yeah, the whole office sleazily dreamt about her and while in consciousness, criticized her. So what?

I was in love. The real one. Not just a fake feeling.  But the one that made me euphoric and sent me into raptures every time I saw her. Every day I waited for her to come to office, and I used to stare at the door, just so that I would be the first person to see her, and relish her, and preserve her in my mind forever.

Then things started to unfold. She was one half of an unhappy marriage, she told me. Her husband was an animal who would come home every night only to molest her, and fall asleep while doing so. He would beat her up if she refused to fall prey to his carnal desires. Life, in general, was shit to her.

Her only respite was office, where she could take her minds off things.

So I started supporting her. I was the shoulder she would cry on. Sometimes, I was scared. “Dude, this is an older, married woman.” I thought to myself. “You cannot help her.”

But sometimes I was glad. Maybe, in giving her strength and support, I was pulling myself away from the world of lechery and self-indulgence. I started to rise above petty thoughts and distractions.

In time, she started falling for me too. I realised this, and for a second, the devilish side in me rose up and wanted to devour her. But then, I came back to my senses. And I realised, that I did not have to do it. I could be her friend for life, and she could be mine. And I would never for one second regret any part of my relationship with her.

So I told her what I felt. I told her that I'd rather be friends with her. She understood. And she was glad. She said, “You are definitely the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I would not want to change this. I am really grateful that I met you, and I really will always pray for you from the bottom of my heart. You have changed me.”

Till today we are friends, and will continue to be. I just hope that everyone gets a chance in life to experience what I have. True, unadulterated, untainted love and friendship.

I still remember what she said. “You have changed me.” The truth is, she changed me. I was a deplorable, despicable wretch earlier. She, made me a man.

Love And Liberation

Imagine the love of a person who lives to dance. Whose life revolves only around dancing and the sheer joy and freedom that she gains from it. Who would dance even if there were no music because she could feel the pure exhilaration of the music in her heart.

Imagine the love of a person who is coming to meet his love after a long time. Who wants nothing more than to meet his love and wrap her in his arms and hold on and never let go. Who would want only to love her for the rest of eternity.

Imagine the love of a person who is committing suicide because she cannot be with the love of her life. Who wants that time be turned back, so that he does not die in her arms. Who desires then only to be with him, in the  afterlife in another place, if not in this world.

Imagine the love of those two who were friends when they were together. Who realised that friendship and trust is far more important  than simply going out together. Who realised that they loved each other only when it was time for them to part ways.

Imagine the love of a person who realises that the one he loves will never be his because she does not love him and so picks up a knife to kill her, and then himself, so that she can be no one else’s. Whose sole purpose in life is to possess and own his love, and give no one else the chance to know her, feel her, love her. Who would then go and let her free at the last moment, because he knows that it is wrong to hurt the one you love, and that setting her free is the only way he can ever be truly free himself.

Imagine the love of a person who is in love with God. Whose life is led only on the sole purpose of one day being with God. Who, when he sees an idol or a symbol or a place of worship of his God, can only kneel down in obeisance and offer himself to His Divinity and Love.

Love is quite varied in its forms, ultimately being the only the truest form of worship and freedom. Love truly is liberation of the highest order.

You and Me.

I gave you a call. But you never picked up. I let the phone ring a dozen times before I hung up. I now know you have another guy to go home to, and another person to hug and smile with. No more worrying about Mr. Weird Guy. I'm probably just a topic of discussion and a riot of laughs for you and your new friend. Both of you simply can go on shaking your heads at this dumb old sweetheart of yours.

I still drop you offline messages, hoping that you would come up with a great reply like you always used to do. But now, I get only dry messages back from you. That too, only sometimes.

Things are different between us now. We now talk in "How's things?" and stuff. And I was stupid enough to think earlier that we'd never move apart. I thought that we'd never fade away. But that was stupid of me.

I was witty when I was with you. Now I am just an old bore in most of the parties, and not even invited to the rest. Where as you are the light of all the parties, stubbing cigarettes with everyone present and sharing drinks with your new found love.

I still wait by my computer with the bag of fries and the chocolate milkshake, waiting for you to come online and chat with me, so that I can have my share of laughs and fun. But, usually, the fries end too fast, and the shakes are too little to last.

Better things to do, you tell me. For both of us, you and me. But then, why are none of them half as much fun?

(Inspiration acknowledged from the doyouwannafess blogger. I am sorry, but I had to take the last line. It was too perfect to be changed.)

My Orkut "About Me" section

I am now starting to realise, that people don't read this to know about the person writing them... but to actually find out if what is written is cool or not... if it is, then i am a social champion... else, i am an outcast...

so, if not for anything else, then for the sake of allowing humanity to be proud of being shunned, i have decided to be an outcast and not write any thing cool over here... you guys need to decide if you still wish to follow this norm of judgement, or whether to take things and people as they are, and not as you want them to be...
*********************

Also, what is it with my generation nowadays??? Everyone wants to be pessimistic and depressed... All going around with tags like "Immortally insane", "Numb darkness", "Sorrowed Life"... i mean, WTF?!?! Guys, relax... life is shitty... deal with it instead of going into bouts of depression.... it's almost as if you are out of place if you are not one among the emotionally and mentally insane/deprived/fucked up.... as if you have to have this tag stuck across your face which makes people think/know/realize that you are all fucked up inside... Why are there no more Happy Young People???
***********************

I believe I can fly to heights hitherto unachieved. But as of now, as of today, this point of time, I just ain't there yet... Right now, Luck is a whore who does not like the smell of my money...
***********************

To Be Yours

Make me the love of your life,
I pray, everyday.
Sometimes though, I do lose hope,
I know that you are not mine to be.
But still sometimes I wish and I dream,
That life itself convinces you to be mine.
If at the end all else fails,
At least make me an illusion of your fantasies
As I have made you in mine.
At least that would then force you
To sense me every time you put pen to paper,
Or your lyrics to music.
That way I would always be yours,
And always live in your words and your song,
And wistfully smile at myself,
For not trying hard enough,
Or for trying too hard.

I am reading this series called Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. Amazingly funny, very fast-paced and some really really memorable characters. One line from the first book has really stuck with me.

"'Confidence is ignorance,' advised the centaur. 'If you're feeling cocky, it's because there's
something you don't know.'

Singleness

I have only just realized that all the most beautiful women I know are more interested in other people. I believe I could have hooked up with at least half of them, and gotten intimate with more than half of that, but there you go. I still am single. And not just single from the point of view of hooking up with these ladies, but single from every fricking point of view possibly known to mankind.

I could have asked out most of these ladies. I am sure half of them would have always been more than ready. But I never could. The only ladies I managed to end up dating were the ones who were almost as desperate as me. Desperate, not just from the physical end, but from every angle.

I did ask out a few of them. And what did I get from them? Only glares, stares, tears and angry outbursts. Grrr!!! Come on ladies!!! I mean, I may be ugly, but at least I am human. I mean, I understand you not wanting to go out with me, but for Chrissake, at least don't show it to my face!!! All these women need lessons in dealing with the opposite sex.

But all in all, what do I say? I still am single, ready to mingle. I know the deviousness of all the homo sapiens of the opposite sex. And yet, every single day, I labor to look good, just to console myself, that I am losing out not because I am not the perfect Adonis, but because there is not yet a woman sensible enough to find me attractive or intelligent enough to be her man. I could not be more stupid or deluded. But there you go. This is what I am. And this is, I am sure, the story of at least a gazillion other men on earth.

How lame the singleness of man?

I am a rare case person. I love saving the SMS'es that I receive. So, here are some of the best ones that I still have on my mobile. Some of them may be racist, lewd, or downright disgusting. But hey, I love these messages, and I love the people who send them to me.

1. Geo: It is okay to let certain things go. To cut loose. Life can be a bitch sometimes, but not always. There might be times when you feel you could jump off buildings, or fill your mouth with rat poison or just drown yourself in the bath tub. There might be times when you need someone really badly just to hold you together when you are falling apart, but who won't have time to spare for you. Sometimes your trust could be broken by your best friend just because she got her old friends back. People don't come to you when you need them, they come to you when they need you. They won't put themselves on the line just to wash away your tears. But time passes, and so do these thoughts and emotions. That's life. You just have to learn to live with it or get swallowed in the sea. It's something we all wish for. And something we are all afraid of. To feel nothing when it hurts. And to feel everything when it does not.

2. Robin: 3 Idiots would have been a greater hit if Kareena had said, "Jahaanpanaah, tussi great ho! Tohfa kubool karo!!" :D

3. Geo: (written by Vinay originally): CONTRADICTIONS:
Amidst all the noise and cacophony around, I hear your voice, a mellifluous sound;
Is it this proximity that separates us, or our distances that entwine?
It was in this concrete jungle that your ambrosia of love I sipped,
And the vacillations of my mind have made my stead firm.
Wanderer, breathing in the scent of lust, was I tagged by the world,
But I only breathe in the toxicity of your love.

4. Geetika: Sambhav.

5. Rushid: Height of "WTF" situation?
A guy takes a blade and writes his girlfriend's name on his forearms....
&
&
&
&
&
&
Makes a spelling mistake!!! :D

6. Rushid: What lies behind us and what lies before us as tiny matters as compared to what lies within us.

7. Bisht: Courage is a contradiction in terms. It is a strong desire to live, and an urgent readiness to die, all at the same time.

8. Geo: This is one of the best messages I have ever received:

Life is beautiful*

* Conditions apply.:D

9. Anup Warrier: One should never have a backup plan, as it destroys the commitment to the task at hand. Man can never discover new oceans unless he has courage to lose sight of the shore.

That's about it for now from me. I'll keep this updated as and when I keep getting great SMS'es.

Till then,

Happy SMSing!!! :)

LOVE STORY

Shyam left his house early that morning to go to work at the village post office. His work as the post master not only included delivery of letters and other documents, but also, being one of the very few literate men in the village, included having to write letters for other people who sought his help. He was a very kind man, and never turned down a single plea for help in this matter. In fact, he felt that it was a very noble thing to do. Helping people send messages to their loved ones. Very few things in life could be better or more satisfying for Shyam.

It was an early winter morning, the kind where the dew was still not out of the air, and the sun had only gently started coming up. All around him, people had started waking up and getting to their daily chores of work. Farmers going to the fields to work, children going to the local teacher, Dubeyji, for schooling, women standing in line for the water from the pump, shopkeepers opening and cleaning their shops in hope for a better day in business.

He was called upon by Raghu, the local milkman as soon as he entered his one-room post office. He had worked earlier in the city, and had been in post offices there. They were big enough to house the entire population of his village. However, he had no qualms in working here, as he was more of a village-minded person, and preferred the slow life of the bucolic countryside, than the maddening pace of the city.

“Raghuchacha, just give me a minute to pick up my pen and paper”, he called out, “and I’ll be with you in a moment.”

“No hurry, Shyam beta”, answered Raghu who looked more concerned about his milk cans tied to his bicycle outside than about getting his letter written by Shyam.

Shyam cleaned up his desk and placed his notebook and pen on it. He shouted out to Ramu, the peon-cum-office boy, to get him some tea, and then called the milkman inside.

“Yes Raghuchacha. Tell me what you want to write and I’ll start writing,’ and saying so he uncapped his pen and placed his hands on the paper. Raghu had a lot to say to his relatives in the city and the letter was done, with some corrections and adjustments in less than half an hour.

Having done with Raghu’s letter, Shyam started the rest of his chores in the post office. He sorted out the letters based on their postage values, and then started arranging them in the post satchel for Ravinder, the postman, to deliver.

And so the day went on. Shyam went about his work piously, never tiring, ever pleasant, and always with a smile on his face.

The end of the day came with the sun setting over the hills at the west end of the town. The sunset always pleased Shyam. He could look at the sight forever, and never get bored of it. The colours that the sky painted near the hilltops, the clouds having a golden glow at the bottom and silver lines at the top, the last flare with which the sun disappears into the horizon giving hope to all, almost saying “I’ll be back tomorrow. Do not lose hope. Every night is followed by a new day.”

Shyam was about to finish up and lock the office door behind him, when a man came out of the darkness behind him and said, “Sir, could you do me a favour and write a letter for me? I do not know how to write, and I cannot wait till morning.”

Shyam turned around, and saw that the man was in tatters. His shirt was torn from the left sleeve and his dhoti was more rags than cloth. The man was also not wearing any footwear in this cold weather. But what surprised him most was the man’s face. It looked as if it was straight out of a battle. Scars were running all over the man’s face, although no blood was visible. Shyam reckoned that the scars were remnants of a violent past. After all, many men in the village were actually bandits in the past, who had converted into peaceful men after repentance (although most of them were peaceful now only because they were too old to be living vicious lives).

“But the post goes only in the morning. Wouldn’t it be better to write it in the morning itself and then get it posted as well?” asked Shyam.

“I won’t be here in the morning,” said the man, who looked up to Shyam pleadingly, “I need to go back to where I come from tonight.”

Since Shyam wasn’t the kind of person who would refuse helping anyone, he nodded and showed the man a seat inside the office. He knew Sunaina would be waiting for him for dinner, but he thought that a few more minutes of waiting wouldn’t matter.

He sat down on his chair and took out some parchment and a pen from the table drawer and put them on the table.

“Who are you? You don’t seem to be from this village.” asked Shyam, to which the man replied, “I am Mircha, and I come from the Rampur town. I used to live here earlier, but I left for Rampur some time back.”
“Tell me what you want to write, and I'll start writing.” Shyam said, as was his usual.

“This letter is to my wife, who is in this village itself, but I cannot tell her these words directly. I need to have this penned down and delivered to her.” said the man, whose features were now more clearly visible in the light of the bulb hanging over Shyam’s head.

“That’s no problem, I’ll deliver it to her myself.” said Shyam, who nodded encouragingly towards the man and put the pen to paper waiting to be dictated.

“Here goes.” said the man, and started speaking looking at the wall behind Shyam.

“Dear Lajjo,

I am in hope that it finds you at peace in the place you are right now. I wanted to meet you and see you, but it is not possible right now. I have much to do and earn before I can come and see you. I long to see you very much, but right now, I do not possess this luxury.

I am getting this letter written by the postmaster, so I cannot tell you all that I feel”, (to which Shyam faked a cough to hide his embarrassment),” but I hope you still continue to read between the lines as always, and know my real feelings.

I am doing well in my work and am treated with a lot of respect from my superiors, and I hope I can one day do enough to earn what I must, and come back to you and spend the rest of my time with you. I really long for your tender embrace and I hope you feel the same about me as well. Time is something, we both know, that can sputter out the best of emotions, but I dearly hope that this is not true in our case.

I long to see you swinging on the rope I tied for you on the branch of the mango tree behind our house, and I pine to see you laugh when I push the swing harder. I wish I could spend every moment of the rest of my time watching your lovely face, and I remember every time your eyes came up to meet mine. Oh! The joy of our young age and the romance! I remember every moment that we spent on the terrace of your father’s home, when I used to climb up from the tamarind tree and find you waiting there eagerly for me to arrive in the middle of the night. You would come barefooted even in the coldest of the winter nights, just so that your father wouldn’t catch you coming to the terrace to meet me. I really long for those days.

I know we spent a lovely time at the end together in each other’s arms, and I am hoping for more of that when we meet.

I must now take leave now, as I am already exceeding the limits of rudeness in keeping this young postmaster back in the post office working, when he should be back home to the warmth of his hearth and the love of his family.

I shall meet you, as usual, on the night of Kali Chaudas, near the Kali Maa temple.

Till then,

I am,

Your loving husband,

Mircha.

P.S. Please wear your favourite red sari when you come to meet me. It really brings out your beauty. I love you.”

And saying this, the letter ended. Mircha then told Shyam the address in the village where the letter was to be delivered and thanked Shyam profusely, and asked how much it would cost for postage. Shyam denied taking any money, as the letter would be delivered in the village itself. Shyam felt it would be unfair to take money.

Mircha thanked him again and walked out of the post office with Shyam, who locked up the door behind him. He took Shyam’s hands in his, and said “Please deliver this to my Lajjo tomorrow itself. She must be waiting to hear from me. It’s been a long time.” to which Shyam replied with a smile, “Don’t worry Mirchaji, I will personally go and deliver this letter first thing in the morning. See, I have kept the letter with me only, as this address in on the way from my home to the post office.”

Having thanked Shyam again for his help, Mircha left into the darkness and Shyam too started walking back to his Sunaina and his home.

The next morning, Shyam knocked on the door on the address of the house that Mircha had told him. An old man opened the door and stepped out. Shyam touched his feet and said, “Greetings Chacha. I have a letter for Lajjo behen.”

The old man suddenly looked startled, the kind of surprise that comes with sadness. “Son, how can this be? Lajjo has died more than ten years ago.”

“What?! How can it be? I just wrote this letter last night for Lajjo behen. Her husband, Mirchaji, himself dictated this for me to write.” said Shyam who was shocked by what the old man said.

“Mircha? He too has been dead for over ten years now,” said the old man, “they both died in each other’s arms after being forced to eat poison by the girl’s father outside the village. They were not allowed to enter the village as they eloped with each other.”

“This is not possible!” exclaimed Shyam, who was not almost having a heart attack. “Mircha was with me last night!”

The old man patted Shyam on his shoulder and said with a very regretful and grieved look in his eyes, “Son, I do not know how that is possible; I myself am the girl’s father.”

And saying this, the old man stepped inside the doors of his house and shut it, leaving a shocked Shyam on the doorstep outside.

I am quite a fan of fantasy novels and series. Over a period of more than 8 years now, I have been continuously reading a lot of fantasy authors, old and new. So I thought I'd go ahead and point out some of the best, and most unforgettable fantasy works that I have read.

NB: These are purely my opinions and reviews, which, I must admit, are influenced by a lot of factors, including but not limited to the following: Inebriation, humor in writing, mindset at the time of reading, addiction to the book, age, etc. Also, these are not in any particular order, except that of my discretion.

1. Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien: Easily the best work of fantasy ever, this book follows the adventures of Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee, two hobbits, as they undertake a journey of epic proportions in a quest to destroy Sauron's Ring of Power. Splendidly narrated, this book takes the reader to a world full of orcs, ents, humans, dwarves, wizards, elves and many other such races and characters.
Why it is Unforgettable: One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

2. Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud: Jonathan Stroud is a relatively new writer, and he came up with this amazingly humorous trilogy, starring Bartimaeus (a djinn) and his master, Nathaniel. This trilogy follows the tale of Nathaniel as he struggles to become a powerful magician, and his relationship with a very witty, sarcastic and nearly powerful djinn, Bartimaeus. The story is narrated in two ways - one, a third person, neutral view point of Nathaniel, and two, a first person narration by Bartimaeus.
Why it is Unforgettable: Bartimaeus has a multidimensional thought process, as a result of which, in between the narration of the story, he has several witty anecdotes to share with the readers, which take the place of footnotes in the book. Makes a reader want to get to the next Bartimaeus chapter really quickly.

3. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan: This fantasy work is a 5 book, unputdownable journey to the land of the Greek myths, wherein the author takes all the stories we love, and shakes the cobwebs out of them in a very humorous, and yet a very gripping manner. It revolves around
Percy Jackson, who is the son of Poseidon, the Sea God. All our favorite mythical characters, including the Minotaur, Hydra, Cyclopes, etc. are included. And not to forget, all the amorous, treacherous, and yet favoured Gods of Greek mythology too, including Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Apollo and more.
Why it is Unforgettable: My Maths teacher just turned into a hag with talons and claws. (How many of us felt this even in reality?! :-))

4. The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind: There have never been protagonists more likeable or admirable than Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell. You literally fall in love with their characters. This series (of over 10 books) follows the tale of Richard Rahl, a woodsguide-turned-wizard, and Kahlan Amnell, the Mother Confessor (read the novels to find out what a Mother Confessor is), as they fall in love, and fight every evil that is thrown their way.
Why it is Unforgettable: Richard Rahl, Kahlan Amnell, Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander, and the Wizard's Rules.

5. Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling: The whole world fell in love with this beautifully constructed series of books, which followed the life of Harry Potter, the boy who lived. J. K. Rowling got everything right in this - the narration, the characterization, the plots, the climax, the settings, everything. Not to mention, it has one of the most well-described villains ever in the form of Lord Voldemort.
Why it is Unforgettable: Lord Voldemort, Harry Potter, Dumbledore, Hermione and Ron, Hagrid, and Expelliarmus! :-)

6. The GameWorld Trilogy by Samit Basu: The first Indian writer to enter the SFF (science fiction fantasy) category of writing, Samit Basu utilises all available resources at his disposal to make this trilogy an absolute page-turner till the end. Not only does he include many Greek and Roman mythical creatures like the Sphinx and the Manticore, he also involves many characters from Indian mythology in the crux of the story. Many known characters lke the Vanars, the Garuds, etc. are involved, and there is ample humor in the story-telling.
Why it is Unforgettable: Danh-Gem, a character is named the opposite of Meghnad. Akarat is a demon character too, the opposite of Taraka. Some really subtle humour, and a very thrilling plot. And of course, the very fact that even Indian writers have started entering the fantasy scene.

That's about it for now. There are quite a few books that I have enjoyed reading, but have not mentioned here. Will keep posting about other books. Till then, Happy Reading!!!

Ten Greek mythology stories that I find enchanting:

1. Ariadne helped Theseus out of a Labyrinth and away from the Minotaur by handing him a string to mark the way. Why didn't the Minotaur see the string and follow it?

2. The only item remaining in Pandora's box is Hope, as Hope was not ready to leave mankind to its fate. Go Misery, Suffering and Pain!!!

3. Prometheus is bound to a rock where everyday an eagle comes and eats his insides, which heal overnight again. (Eternal Torment #1).

4. Sisyphus drags a rock up the hill everyday, but the rock slides down by nighttime. (Eternal Torment #2).

5. Tantalus had his moment of satisfaction and revenge against the Gods. But he too stands in a pool whose water he cannot drink and under a tree whose fruit he cannot pluck to eat.
(Eternal Torment #3).

6. Kronos was cut down by his own sons into a gazillion pieces and his remains were scattered throughout the Underworld and Erebus. Since he is immortal, the pain too is eternal.
(Eternal Torment #4)

7. Daedalus escaped from the prisons of Minos by making wax wings for himself and his son, Icarus. However, Icarus was dumb enough to fly too high to the sun, and the wax melted. How can the son of a genius be such a total idiot?

8. Hercules captured the Erymanthian Boar that was rampaging many villages by driving it into thick snow. What would he have done if it were not winter, or if there was no snow that year?

9. Medusa was killed by Perseus. Perseus was looking at her reflection in a shield, and hecut off her head and then gifted the head to Hermes, who with the help of Athena, made a shield called Aegis for Zeus. Why didn't Hermes, Athena or Zeus turn into stone?

10. Hermes carried a caduceus having two snakes entwined and doctors use the caduceus as their symbol as Hermes is the God of Medicine. Why don't thieves use the symbol too, as he also is the God of Thieves?

Desires

Sometimes it is easier to just sit back and say that life is not fair and that it could treat us better. I know firsthand, because that is exactly what I am feeling just now. Yeah, yeah, you can bitch all you like, "Oh no... He is a whiner. He can't fight for what he wants." But you know what, I really don't care. Right now, I want to whine. Right now, I want to crib. Right now, I want to not fight for what I want or deserve. Right now, I want to simply be laden with all the things that I desire. Thrust them upon me. I'll take all of it with ease, joy and relief. I shall have no complaints once I have it all. I don't want to be remembered as one who got all through hard work and struggle. I'd rather just have everything laid out for me on a platter, with a spoon large enough to take it all up in a single scoop.

I know I sound like a wimp right now. But hey, I think I have been struggling too long for things that do not deserve, or merit such attention and such intense dedication. Simple things. Money, a motorbike, a publishing agent, love... all these and more.

I reiterate. Just put it all in front of me. I'll take it all.
